Book List for 2020 Blogging, Book Club: Shadows Beneath the Books

You may have already planned out all the books you’re going to read this year, but if you haven’t, maybe my list can help you form that list. Below are twelve books, one for each month of the year. The idea is that each month we can read the book together and the last week of the month, usually on the last Monday, I will post my thoughts about the book and you can comment on the post so we can talk about it. There will be spoilers, as this is more of a book club than book reviews. But I will be sure to let you know the degree of spoilers if you haven’t finished the book.

Oh, and if you would like me to interview you about the book, we can do that too! You can, also, do a guest post on the book of the month and I can do the commenting. 😉 Let me know if you’re interested in doing either of those and we’ll make a plan.

January: Wayfarer by K. M. Weiland

February: The Fated Sky by Mary Robinette Kowal

March: The Murder at the Vicarage by Agatha Christie

April: The Final Empire (Mistborn #1) by Brandon Sanderson

May: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

June: The Emotional Craft of Fiction: How to Write with Emotional Power, Develop Achingly Real Characters, Move Your Readers, and Create Riveting Moral Stakes by Donald Maass

Alternate/fiction book: The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

July: The Lady Astronaut of Mars by Mary Robinette Kowal

August: The Electrical Menagerie (The Celestial Isles #1) by Mollie E. Reeder

September: On Writing and Worldbuilding Vol. 1 by Timothy Hickson

Alternate/fiction book: The Caves of Steel (Robot #1) Isaac Asimov

October: A Declaration of the Rights of Magicians by H. G. Parry

November: Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck

December: Stormlight Archive book #4 by Brandon Sanderson

I hope you will join me in the reading and writing adventures this year. I know, not all these books may capture your interest. That’s okay. Pick a book you want to read in place of the one(s) you don’t care about and tell me about it when you’re done reading. These are not all the books I’ll be reading this year. I’ve already read Spaceman: An Astronaut’s Unlikely Journey to Unlock the Secrets of the Universe by Mike Massimino, The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton, an of course Wayfarer by K. M. Weiland. My husband says I can’t count my own books, but I, also, read Smells of Exile. And all of these are just my January books! If you want to check out my full to be read pile of books, head over to Goodreads. Feel free to make recommendations. Happy Reading!
